Yeager Airport road work complete

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Repair work to Airport Road was completed Thursday, a day after the more than $350,000 project began.

Crews were paving the road Wednesday. The construction was part of the Jim’s Promise Program, Gov. Jim Justice’s initiative to improve state roads.

The road serves as the main access to Yeager Airport, which serves 425,000 passengers annually.

“This is a great improvement to the Airport for our customers, and to the first impression we have on visitors upon their initial arrival to our great State,” airport director Terry Sayre said in a statement.

The West Virginia Department of Highways reports the total cost of the project at $351,500.
