Yeager Airport commitees recommend change to concession vendor

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — New food and drink options could be coming to Yeager Airport in Charleston very soon.

On Monday, the airport’s finance and marketing committees voted in a meeting to recommend Faber, Coe and Gregg Inc as the new vendor to the Yeager Airport Board of Directors next week.

Faber, Coe and Gregg Inc (Faber) is a New Jersey based company that is in airports, train terminals, hotels, thruways, and office buildings nationwide with restaurants and souvenir shops.

“The new company is going to make a big investment in the airport, a capital investment,” Sayre said of Faber. “A big remodel and I think you will see a big change.

“I think it’ll be a different type of food options and think it’ll work. I think we will actually get people in town to come up here for lunch.”

Faber would replace longtime vendor Better Foods who is known for having Gino’s and Tudor’s at the airport right now. Better Foods just ended a 10-year lease with the airport on December 31 as Faber would sign a 7-year lease.

“People want change sometimes,” Sayre said. “They’ve been here for a long time and have provided excellent service in the past. The airport is changing and it is just time for a change.”

The Yeager Airport board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday March, 27.
