CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The accomplishments of West Virginia State University were hailed at the state capitol Tuesday as part of West Virginia State University Day.
Senator Ed Gaunch (R-Kanawha), a State alum, spoke in favor of a resolution recognizing State and its Institute campus. He said he was 17 when he first stepped onto the campus in the mid 1960’s.
“I can’t tell you what a difference it made in my life–it changed everything for me,” Gaunch said. “I’m proud to be part of the West Virginia State family.”
Senator Mark Drennen (R-Putnam) is also a WVSU alum.
