INSTITUTE, W.Va. — WVSU appointed Dr. Ann Brothers Smith Thursday as the new chair of the Board of Governors effective July 1.
Smith worked for many years in the Detroit Public School System before retiring in 2007 as the Associate Superintendent for School Leadership for Detroit Public Schools.
Smith has served on the WVSU Board of Governors since 2011, most recently as the vice chair.
Charleston area attorney Paul Konstanty was also elected Vice Chair of the Board of Governors for 2016 on Thursday.
