Woman hospitalized following West Side shooting

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A woman walked into CAMC General early Tuesday morning after being shot in the face.

Police said Ameisha Hill, 23, was shot on Central Avenue. She came into the hospital at about 3:45 a.m.

“The injury was minor because of the trajectory of the bullet, so the worst part of her injury was to the jaw,” Lt. Steve Cooper, chief of detectives with the Charleston Police Department, explained on Tuesday’s “580 Live” hosted by Charleston Mayor Danny Jones.

Hill is being uncooperative with police, Cooper said.

Officers searched the Central Avenue area for several hours Tuesday morning. They reopened the street by 7 a.m.
