Woman facing charges after allegedly stealing from church, male suspect wanted

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — A Sissonville woman is being charged with a felony after allegedly being caught in a church parking lot with stolen items.

Kanawha County Sheriff’s office said Sherri Ann Lane, 42, was spotted hiding in the parking lot of Victory Baptist Church late Thursday night after deputies responded to a breaking and entering call.

Sheriff Mike Rutherford said Lane was in possession of a vehicle that was filled with stolen items that were stolen from inside the church.

Authorities are looking for a male suspect, 39-year-old Shannon Dewayne Fields, of Sissionville. Fields fled from the scene and is wanted for breaking and entering.

Lane was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony. She is being held in the South-Central Regional Jail.
