Woman charged for Kanawha City robberies

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A woman has been charged with two burglaries and a thwarted attempt on May 14 and 15 in Kanawha City.

Victoria Critchfield faces two counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny. According to Lt. Autumn Davis, public information officer for the Charleston Police Department, Critchfield will be arranged Tuesday morning.

Critchfield allegedly stole belongings from residences on Kanawha Avenue and MacCorkle Avenue. She entered the homes through the back doors of the residences. She attempted to enter a home in the 6600 block of Roosevelt Avenue by asking the homeowner if there was a cell phone charger she could borrow, to which the homeowner turned Critchfield away.

Critchfield is accused of taking personal items in the two successful attempts, including a 2004 white Kia Sorento. Police said in a statement at the time the incidents are thought to be related.
