Woman charged after stabbing husband with sword

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A woman was charged Monday after allegedly stabbing her husband with a sword.

Alicia Hudson, 36, was arguing with her husband after visiting Piggly Wiggly to purchase beer and chicken prior to the act.

According to the Charleston Police Department, the two went back to an apartment belonging to Hudson’s grandfather on MacCorkle Avenue SE.

During the argument, she asked him to leave. When he refused to do so, she grabbed a sword from a closet.

Police said she stabbed her husband in the chest, and then called 911.

The husband had a severe laceration to his chest and also received injuries to his hands and legs.

Hudson is at the South Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
