WINFIELD, W.Va. — Walmart has decided not to pursue plans to build a Neighborhood Market in Teays Valley days after after a decision was reversed on the special permit to allow the store.
Last Friday, a circuit judge in Winfield reversed a decision made by the Putnam County Board of Zoning Appeals last year to grant the retail giant a permit to build on a location along Route 34.
Plans for the store were hotly contested by residents, some of which formed a group called “Keep the Promise Coalition” to try to stop the company from building.
