CHARLESTON, W.Va. — University of Charleston football coach Pat Kirkland suffered a medical episode over the weekend and won’t be able to coach for a few weeks, a university spokesman confirmed Monday.
Kirkland is hospitalized in Morgantown. Specifics about the episode were not released.
UC offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Paul Johnson will fill-in for Kirkland in the interim.
The school expects Kirkland to be able to return to work in the not to distant future, UC Communications Director Dave Traube said.
