Two victims in Putnam County wreck identified

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. — Two men believed to be employees of a Mexican restaurant in Putnam County were being identified as the victims of a deadly Friday wreck in Putnam County.

The two were Pedro Gonzoles and Enrique Sanchez Hernandez, officials said.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department reported the crash happened in the early morning hours Friday on Route 35 near the Buffalo Bridge and closed Route 35 for several hours.

Deputies indicated the two victims were in a silver Pontiac that crossed the centerline and struck a tractor trailer going in the opposite direction possibly due to impaired driving.
