Two arrested in connection with vehicle thefts, other crimes

JEFFERSON, W.Va. — Two St. Albans men are in custody after Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies allege they were part of vehicle thefts and other crimes in Kanawha, Putnam and Jackson counties.

Roosevelt Holton, 35, and Anthony Muenlhausen, 51, were taken into custody Thursday. Deputy C. A. Boner started to investigate in the 400 block of Hampshire Drive in Jefferson after spotting what he thought was the vehicle.

A deputy spotted an SUV reported stolen in South Charleston two hours later in Jefferson. Holton was next to that vehicle. They ran a check on another vehicle in the area and found it had been stolen from Jackson County. Holton will also face charges from that county.

Deputies have charged Muenlhausen with allegedly obstructing the investigation. They said he is also wanted in connection with separate charges in Putnam County.

Both men were taken to jail.
