TSA launches PreCheck screening system at Yeager

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The TSA has launched PreCheck operations at Yeager Airport.

PreCheck is an expedited security screening program that allows flyers to leave their shoes, belt and light outerwear on. They may also keep their laptops in their cases and keep 3-1-1 compliant liquids in their carry-on bag.

The move will make Yeager one of approximately 150 airports in the United States where the program takes place. To be eligible for the program, travelers must go through a pre-enrollment process online and visit an application center. Applicants must provide biographic information, be fingerprinted, and provide a U.S. Passport, a birth certificate or valid immigration documentation.

The application fee for a five-year membership is $85. Application centers are located in South Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg, and Morgantown.

Applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number once they are approved.
