Truck carrying 37 dogs crashes in Clendenin

CLENDENIN, W.Va.–A box truck carrying 37 dogs to be spayed and neutered crashed Wednesday morning on Route 4 near Elk River Road North, driving off the shoulder and into a bank.

The driver, Maysel native Linda McKinney, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. She is a volunteer for an animal resuce group in Clay County. Both the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association and volunteers from the rescue group arrived at the scene to help transport the animals.

All of the animals were reported to be uninjured after the crash. No other vehicles were involved, and no property damage was reported.
