Too early to determine if Belle homeowner will be indicted for fatal shooting, prosecutors say

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — It’s too early to determine whether prosecutors will try to indict a Belle homeowner who shot and killed a man who allegedly broke into his home over the weekend.

Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney Charles Miller said Monday afternoon there’s not enough information to decide if the unnamed homeowner will be charged.

A man called Kanawha Metro 911 early Saturday morning to say he had shot a burglar. Justin William Jones, 33, was found shot in the bedroom of the home and pronounced dead at the scene.

Jones and the homeowner allegedly knew each other and the incident wasn’t random, Kanawha sheriff’s deputies said Sunday.
