Three injured in ambulance crash

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. – Three individuals are recovering from minor injuries after an ambulance ran off the road in Putnam County.

According to Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese, two Teays Valley Fire Department members were transporting a patient for dialysis when the ambulance veered off the road near the intersection of state Route 34 and U.S. Route 35.

The ambulance hit a telephone pole before going into a shallow creek.

The crew members and the patient were taken to a nearby hospital.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.
