Suspect in St. Albans police chase charged

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — The suspect in a police chase in Kanawha County was arraigned Friday.

Samuel Manriquez, 31, of Dunbar, faces charges include possession of a stolen car, felony fleeing and battery of two police officers.

Lt. P.A. Bass and Patrolman M.W. Cooper pursued Manriquez who they believed was driving a stolen vehicle out of Logan County.

Manriquez allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and ran from the vehicle. The suspect and officers were injured in a fight before the arrest.

A 5-year-old girl was one of the passengers in the car.

Manriquez was previously charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance from May 12.
