State PSC sets hearing date for November on WVAWC surcharge

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state Public Service Commission has set hearing dates for WV American Water’s request to add a multi-million dollar surcharge in November.

Several groups, including the Kanawha County Commission, have called for the request to be postponed due to the June flood.

The three-member PSC commission filed an order Monday setting the regulatory hearings to begin Nov. 2.

American Water’s attorneys filed a motion last week calling the request for a postponement of the case “opportunistic, if not, insincere.”
