St. Albans man sentenced to five years in prison on federal drug charges

CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County man was sentenced Wednesday to five years in prison on federal drug charges.

O’Neil Anthony Peart, 37, of St. Albans previously pleaded guilty to possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking offenses.

On Dec. 4, 2015, drug task force officers executed a search warrant at Peart’s apartment along Walnut Street in St. Albans.

Items seized by police in the raid included eight firearms, about 21 grams of fentanyl, approximately 7.5 pounds of marijuana, and more than $5,300 in cash.

All but two of the firearms were loaded.
