Results in for South Charleston primary election

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The ballot is set for South Charleston’s general election in June following Saturday’s primary election.

The race for mayor will be between current Mayor Frank Mullens, a Republican, and former Mayor Richie Robb, a Democrat. Both ran unopposed in Saturday’s primary.

The races for the seven council wards are as follows:

Ward 1: Kent Rymer, the Republican incumbent, will run unopposed in June.
Ward 2: Mark Wolford, a Democrat, will run unopposed in June.
Ward 3: Kathleen Walker, the Democrat incumbent, will run unopposed in June.
Ward 4: Ellen Akers, a Republican, will face Jeffrey Williamson, a Democrat, in June.
Ward 5: Ed Brooks, a Republican, will face David Isner, a Democrat. Isner won the nomination Saturday by one vote.
Ward 6: Bob Lilly, a Republican, will challenge incumbent Meg Britt, a Democrat, in June.
Ward 7: C. Ben Paul, a Democrat, will challenge incumbent Jamie Sibod, a Republican, in June.
Ward 8: Bonnie Brown, a Democrat, and Don Ryan, a Republican, are running in June.

Election Day in South Charleston is scheduled for June 6.
