WINFIELD, W.Va. — A Putnam County woman was sentenced Tuesday to a year in jail in connection with her son’s drowning death in 2014.
Jessica Fields, of Scott Depot, was sentenced in Putnam County Circuit Court on misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter charges.
Fields’ 3-year-old son Landyn Fields drowned in Aug. 2014 when he fell into the family pool. Fields was not watching her son at the time of the incident.
Landyn Fields died at CAMC in Teays Valley.
