WINFIELD, W.Va. — The Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office warned residents of a phone scam Thursday.
County Prosecutor Mark Sorsaia said his office has received calls from residents who say the caller claims they are from the Prosecutor’s Office and leaves threatening messages.
The caller allegedly stated that the resident has to immediately return the phone call or they could be arrested.
Residents who have received similar calls are asked to report it to the prosecutor’s office at 304-586-0205.
