Putnam County man sentenced for drug distribution

WINFIELD, W.Va. — A Putnam County man will spend four years in federal prison for distributing drugs.

Christian Garrett Thornton, 30, was sentenced Wednesday after previously pleading guilty to four counts of distributing oxymorphone and one county of possession of oxymorphone with intent to distribute.

Between February and March 2015, Thornton sold Opana pills to a law enforcement informant.

Thornton also admitted to possessing additional Opana bills he intended to distribute.
