Putnam County man admits to having sex with 14-year-old

WINFIELD, W.Va. — A Putnam County man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl could be facing hundreds more charges after he turned himself in Wednesday.

Police say that 26-year-old Stacey Johnson admitted to having sexual relations with the teenager and was aware that she was only 14 at the time. The relationship allegedly started last June and didn’t end until this April.

Johnson was arraigned in Putnam County Magistrate Court on three counts of third-degree sexual assault, but he could face over 200 counts all from the same relationship with the teenage victim.

Johnson is currently at the Western Regional Jail under $150,000 bail.
