Process to replace Foster announced

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The search process for the next person to represent the 38th District in the West Virginia House of Delegates was announced Tuesday, four days after the lawmaker who held that position announced her resignation.

Former Delegate Nancy Foster, R-Putnam, resigned because she said she was unable to fulfill business and family obligations while also serving public office.

The West Virginia Republican Party announced the 38th Delegate District Republican Committee must submit three eligible Republicans to Gov. Jim Justice per state law.

Interested individuals must submit a resume and cover letter to the state Republican Party, which must be received by 3 p.m. on Sept. 11. The information can be sent to [email protected]; P.O. Box 2711, Charleston, West Virginia 25305; or faxed to 304-768-6083.

Candidates will be contacted about interviews times on Sept. 12.

Interviews will be conducted Sept. 13 at Foster Supply at 9374 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, West Virginia 25560.

Foster and her husband, Putnam County Commissioner Ron Foster, own the business. Vice President Mike Pence gave an address at the location in March.
