Police respond to standoff in South Hills

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — No injuries were reported in standoff situation that happened Tuesday in South Hills.

Charleston police officers were called to a home on Hunters Ridge Road regarding someone barricarding himself into the house threatening to harm himself.

The incident did not begin at the home, but rather a residence on Saddlehorn Drive.

According to Lt. Autumn Davis, public information officer for the Charleston Police Department, the department’s SWAT team and hostage negotiation team were able to successful get the individual to surrender to police.

Charges are pending against the person, whose name was not released.
