PEYTONA, W.Va. — State Police in Boone County say a man found dead Sunday afternoon near the Peytona community appears to have been a murder victim.
“It was an adult male by a passerby who called 9-1-1. First responders got there and located him,” said Corporal Kevin Harper of the West Virginia State Police.
State police later identified the victim as Siegel Kinder, 74, of Peytona.
A cause of death and time of death are not yet known.
Kinder’s body was discovered about 1 p.m. Sunday.
According to Harper, the body was lying along state Route 3 just across the road from an old family cemetery.
