ELKVIEW, W.Va.–One lane of Blue Creek Road in Elkview is now cleared.
Crews have been working for over 24 hours trying to break up what is estimated to be a 450-ton boulder that slid off a mountain and into the Kanawha county road Tuesday afternoon.
Work will continue overnight Wednesday night to completely remove the boulder and to begin repair of the road. There is no word as to when the rest of the road will open.
