New information may help in probe of collision that killed Hurricane woman

CULLODEN, W.Va. — Cabell County sheriff’s deputies are hoping additional information will help narrow down the number of leads they’ve received on a fatal hit and run from last week in the Culloden community.

Roaxanne Boardman, 30, of Hurricane, was struck and killed last Thursday at approximately 4 a.m. along U.S. Route 60 just inside the Cabell County line.

She was walking with a friend who was not hurt. He told police the vehicle which struck Boardman was a green Ford Mustang. Sgt. Steve Vincent with the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau said they have looked at a lot of green Mustangs since then, but now they’ve learned another much more specific detail.

“We didn’t know until late Friday night about discoloration to the right front fender. Up until now, everyone whose called in and seen a green Ford Mustang. But now, if we can get it out there that there is some discoloration to the right front fender, it might narrow some things down,” Vincent said.

The fender’s color is different shade from the rest of the vehicle and could even be described as a completely different color. The front end should also have damage from the impact with the victim. Vincent worries that could change as time wears on.

“The longer this goes, the more likelihood the vehicle could be fixed, altered or disposed of. Time is of the essence,” he said.

Those who believe they have information on a potential suspect vehicle can call the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department or the Cabell County 911 center.
