Nautilus to remove equipment from Quarrier Street YWCA

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Nautilus Fitness Centers has given YWCA-Charleston a notice that it will remove its equipment from the YWCA Quarrier Street building by June 30, according to a statement citing officials from both organizations.

Nautilus will cease services on April 30. Company President Bob White said the decision is a “direct result” of population loss in the greater Charleston area.

“It is our intention to continue providing health and fitness programs at our Quarrier Street location. We are actively seeking a fitness provider and it is our hope that programs at Quarrier Street will resume shortly,” said Raymona Kinneberg, YWCA board president.

Current membership will be transferred to the Nautilus Fitness Center location in Kanawha Center.
