SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — South Charleston’s Mound Antique Car Show will remain part of its Summerfest event, contrary to previous reports that the show would be moving to Dunbar’s Shawnee Park.
“The car show around The Mound at Summerfest is on schedule as always,” said Mayor Frank Mullens. “It never was moved to Dunbar; they are having a car show but it’s not the Summerfest Mound Car Show. That’s still here as it always was.”
Mullens said the car show was being run by different people from last year, but otherwise nothing else had changed.
“I don’t know where all this started, or how it started. There is misinformation being put out there and I’d like to just clarify it: Summerfest Around the Mound Car Show is part of our weekend of Summerfest.”
SC Summerfest will take place Aug. 16-20 “Around the Mound”. The car show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 20, followed by fireworks that night.
