More charges expected in connection with “crime wave”

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Additional charges will be filed in the coming days against three men and two juveniles arrested last week following a home invasion that injured an 84-year-old woman, Charleston police said.

Chief of Detectives Lt. Steve Cooper said Monday on 580-Live with Charleston Mayor Danny Jones that Camri White, 18, of Hurricane, Trevon Means, 18, Jonathan Pannell and two juveniles, all of Charleston, will next be charged with an attempted burglary charges from an attempted home invasion at Ross Commons.

Cooper added that one of the five will be charged with last week’s armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on Washington Street East.

“This was all one crew. They were a crime wave over the last 7 to 10 days. They are all locked up,” Cooper said.

The West Side home invasion victim is recovering, Cooper said.

“She had a gun pointed at her head and chest. She got knocked around. It was really heinous,” he said.
