CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Capital High School has a new football coach.
The hiring of longtime assistant coach Mark Mason was approved by the Kanawha County Board of Education Wednesday.
Mason replaces John Carpenter who resigned the job earlier this summer.
The Cougars and all other high school teams across the state begin practice for the coming season this coming Monday, Aug. 2.
