Man shot and killed in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston police are investigating a Sunday evening murder in the city.

The victim, identified as Jalil Myers, 20, of Charleston, was shot and killed inside an apartment at 121 Oakwood Road. It happened at around 9:20 p.m.

Lt. Steve Cooper, chief of detectives with the Charleston Police Department, said he believes there are multiple suspects on the run.

“We are trying to piece together what happened and track down the suspects. We believe there are more than one who were involved in that,” Cooper said on Monday’s “580 Live” with Charleston Mayor Danny Jones heard on MetroNews affiliate 580-WCHS.

Cooper said Myers lived on South Park Road in Charleston and that he was well-known to police.
