CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man will spend 30 years in prison for robbing Charleston Fifth Third Bank in Kanawha City in Sept. 2014.

Jason Compton, 34, entered the bank on MacCorkle Avenue and demanded money while on parole. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department said Compton also robbed the Chase Bank in Elkview in Aug. 2014.

He had been serving prison time for previous robberies. He was sentenced in 2010 to spend 15 years behind bars for his role in robbing Trivillian’s Pharmacy in Kanawha City and Rite Aid in Belle.
