Man ruled not competent enough to stand trial in daughter’s shooting death

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — An elderly man will spend the rest of his life in a mental hospital after a Kanawha County judge ruled he will never be competent enough to stand trial in his daughter’s death.

William Stuck, 92, allegedly shot Sandra Nicholas in October 2016 at their Mink Shoals home. He has been staying at the William Sharpe Hospital in Weston.

While the judge ruled Stuck was incompetent to stand trail, there was enough evidence to prove him guilty of first-degree murder.
