Man pleads guilty in Cross Lanes shooting death

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man will spend more than a decade in prison for shooting and killing another man.

Dajuan Jackson pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter Monday.

Deputies said Jackson shot Christopher Butler, 26, at the Drexel Place apartments in Cross Lanes in Dec. 2016.

A toddler and a few other people were inside the apartment, but no one was hurt.

The judge on Monday sentenced Jackson to 15 years behind bars.
