Man in custody after alleged beating

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man is in jail after allegedly beating his pregnant girlfriend and injecting her with meth.

Kyle Stowers, 21, of Charleston, was arrested last Friday and charged with malicious wounding.

According to a criminal complaint, Stowers struck his girlfriend several times in the head, face and upper body and then used a baseball bat on her legs. He then allegedly injected meth into her right arm and left her. The woman was 37 weeks pregnant at the time, authorities said.

Stowers is in the South Central Regional Jail on $10,000 bail.
