MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — One person died in a hit and run accident Monday on U.S. Route 35.
The crash happened near Fraziers Bottom.
According to Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies, 66-year-old Phillip Cartee, 66, of South Webster, Ohio, died in the crash.
According to investigators, Cartee drove into the left lane to pass traffic when a burgundy pickup truck steered over into their vehicle. Cartee’s vehicle drove into a utility pole.
The truck was heading toward Point Pleasant.
