Man arrested on allegations of sexual misconduct involving minor

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Members of Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Investigation arrested a man Monday in connection with allegations of sexual assault and abuse involving a minor.

Michael Ray Moles Jr., 41, of Campbells Creek, was charged with sexual assault of a minor, sexual abuse of a minor and sexual abuse of a minor by a custodian or guardian.

Authorities received a complaint last month about inappropriate messages being exchanged over a cell phone, in which Moles was allegedly involved in the conversation. Detectives interviewed victims and witnesses, which resulted in the identification of a 6-year-old child victim.

Moles was transported to South Central Regional Jail.
