CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man accused of escaping the South Central Regional Jail in October 2017 and fleeing to Mexico appeared in court on Tuesday.
In Kanawha County Circuit Court, Todd Boyes expressed concern for his attorney. He also began filing motions himself and got the approval to appear at future hearings in person rather than by video.
The motions filed on Tuesday before his upcoming trial included claims that he was having trouble making contact with his lawyer. The judge said in the response to his request that he may but has to get a list of who might testify against him.
