Law violations waived in Glasgow following tense city council meeting

GLASGOW, W.Va. — Glasgow Mayor Peggy Fisher announced Monday recent tickets for lawn ordinance violations will be waived.

According to WOWK, 21 citations were given out in one day. Citizens packed the Glasgow City Council chambers Monday evening to oppose the tickets.

Fisher said a new detailed ordinance will be put into place. Meeting attendees blamed the increase on inexperienced police officers, but Fisher said only two officers in the police department lack experience.

Those officers can write citations but not speeding tickets.
