KVC Health System to discuss economic benefits at Wednesday press conference

MONTGOMERY, W.Va. — KVC Health Systems and others partners connected to its new Montgomery campus will hold a press conference Wednesday regarding how plans to utilize the former campus of WVU Tech will help the city of Montgomery.

KVC Health Systems took over the campus after WVU Tech left this summer for its facility in Beckley. Tommy Bailey, the director of strategic initiatives for KVC Health Systems, said in June BridgeValley Community and Technical College would use a third of the campus as well as the engineering school for its services.

KVC Health Systems will lease the athletic center to the YMCA of Kanawha Valley.

The college will be the nation’s first designed to support youth transitioning from foster care. KVC Health Systems agreed to a 25-year lease on the campus.

State and Montgomery officials will also be at Wednesday’s press conference.
