Kanawha Sheriff’s Deputies to ramp up patrols in high-crash interstate spots

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Through the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is conducting high visibility patrols in high crash interstate areas.

This week, the sheriff’s office began patrolling I-64 between Dunbar and Institute hill, and I-77 north and south of the Edens Fork exit.

“We are hopeful these patrols will result in fewer speeders, more conscientious driving, and thus fewer crashes. We encourage all drivers to devote their attention to driving instead of being distracted, and follow the law. We just want everyone to get where they’re going safely,” said a release from the sheriff’s office.
