CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Kanawha County Board of Education voted Tuesday to close Cedar Grove Middle School and move its students to DuPont Middle School.
The board’s unanimous decision came during a public hearing.
Education leaders have cited declining enrollment and the school’s poor condition as reasons behind the decision.
The school system is seeking funding from the School Building Authority to renovate the middle school to an elementary school.
