Kanawha County woman charged with stealing flood relief supplies

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. — A Sissonville woman was charged Tuesday with taking items collected for flood victims, despite not being affected by the flood.

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies said Samantha Peck, 28 was pulled over over for speeding and other traffic violations on Friday.

She had allegedly picked up several hundred dollars worth of diapers, food, baby wipes, hand tools, a small purse and other items at a disaster relief center.

Peck was arrested and charged with obtaining goods under false pretenses, a misdemeanor. Her bond was set at $5000.
