CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Rand man made a plea deal in advance of his trial next week on Friday, admitting to voluntary manslaughter in the killing of a man and wounding of a woman.
Gerard Maxwell, 30, pleaded guilty Friday morning in connection with the shooting death of Christopher “Snacks” Carey and wounding of Latisha Crawford in Rand last year.
Maxwell will be sentenced to 3 years in jail, but could be out in a year with credit for time served and good behavior during his sentence.
