In September, a judge ruled a mistrial because a juror went to the crime scene and then told the other jurors about her visit.

Jackson faces charges in connection with the December 2015 shooting death of Bryan Rogers, 29, of Ripley. It happened on Charleston’s West Side.

Police said Jackson was arrested after he got into an argument with Rogers over stolen heroin. Jackson allegedly pulled a gun out of his pocket and shot Rogers. He later died at CAMC General.
