“Judge Judy” to speak at South Charleston High graduation

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Graduation is in session.

Judith Sheindlin, the host of the TV show “Judge Judy,” will be the speaker at the South Charleston High School graduation ceremony on May 20.

The speaking engagement comes as the result of one of the school’s student winning the show’s national Ultimate Graduation Contest on Facebook. Students had to write a 250-word or less essay about why Sheindlin should speak at their school. This is the second year of the project.

Sheindlin began her syndicated program in 1996 after nearly 25 years in New York family court. Her program is the No. 1 show in daytime television.

She has written multiple books and appeared on other television programs according to her official biography.
