Job fair set for Thursday in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Development Office and WorkForce West Virginia. are hosting a job fair Thursday at the Kanawha City Community Center.

Development Office Executive Director Mike Graney says there are 10 businesses looking to fill openings.

“Everything from equipment operators to truck drivers to janitorial positions to accounting and clerical positions to fraud protection specialists,” Graney said.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We’re asking folks to come, bring their resumes and be prepared to fill out an application and be interviewed,” Graney said.

He said typically two forms of identification would be idea.

The job fair assistance is provided to employers through the governor’s Guaranteed Workforce program.
